MEETING
In this meeting, a group of key stakeholder organisations and institutions have engaged with the preliminary research results produced by the I-CLAIM team at Ca’ Foscari University concerning the national policies on migration, labour and welfare that have an impact on the living and working conditions of migrants in situation of irregularity in the country.
The meeting opened with a short presentation from the I-CLAIM team about the goals and approach of the research project and the importance of dialogue with stakeholder. Then participants divided into two groups in order to engage with a few questions and a document that was disseminated beforehand presenting the preliminary results on the policies of irregularity in Italy. At the end the two groups reunited for a plenary discussion.
Among the invited key stakeholders there were invited representatives from the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, Labour Inspection, Trade Unions NGOs supporting migrants and their access to rights and services, and International organisations working on migration, children’s rights, human rights (i.e. Amnesty International, Save the Children, OIM)
This will be a closed meeting where Chatham House rules will apply.
